We’re proud to be a part of this year’s touring UK Jewish Film Festival and supporting their aim of bringing Jewish related film to wider audiences
Barbra Streisland's first film as a director, based on a story by Isaac Bashevis Singer, is the tale of a young Jewish woman who has to disguise herself as a boy in order to receive an education. Once she is studying among the Orthodox Jewish rabbis, she falls in love with another student; her situation is further complicated when a woman falls in love her. Featuring an exceptional musical score from Michel Legrand, Yentl is long overdue a revival.
Screening as part of BFI Musicals! The Greatest Show on Screen, a UK-wide film season supported by National Lottery, BFI Film Audience Network and ICO. bfimusicals.co.uk
